Santee Village is a loft community unto it’s own within Los Angeles’ Fashion district. The community has it’s own grocery store and eateries, and is just a block from the famous “Santee Alley” shopping enclave. It’s two buildings (Eckardt is red, Cornell is blue) share amenities and parking with Santee Court apartments, but that’s the extent of the affiliation between the owned loft buildings and the rental buildings.

The lofts are true live/work, and feature original factory windows, polished concrete floors, high ceilings, exposed pipes, and cement posts. Modern flair was added with European kitchens and Bosch appliances, and minimalist-styled bathrooms featuring generous soaking tubs. The Eckardt Building offers open lofts with 1 bathroom from 800 to 880 square feet, and the Cornell Building has open lofts with 1 bathroom from 620 to 1050 square feet. At Cornell, the “05” stack offers a wonderful unit-length balcony which overlooks the Village courtyard. Each building includes only one penthouse; Eckardt’s is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1,497 sqft unit, and Cornell’s is a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom 1760 sqft unit. Parking is deeded and on-premises for some units, and assigned and off-premises for others.

A third loft ownership building shares amenities and parking with Santee Village, The Textile Building, however it’s often mistaken as not being part of the Santee Village community primarily because the building is detached by nearly half of one city-block, and it’s renovation occurred and lofts were sold independent of and prior to the 2006 renovation and subsequent combined sales event of both the Eckardt and Cornell Buildings.
